1# rotini(or macaroni, or ziti).
Boil it, in 3/4 gallon of water(with 2 TBSP salt and a slug of olive oil)to al dente.
While doing this, take a packet of Knorrâ„¢ dehydrated "spring vegetable" soup mix, 1/4 cup water, 1/2 tsp. granulated garlic, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, and 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, mix into a slurry, and put it into a microwave, at 50% power for two minutes.
When it comes out, add 1/2 of a medium sized yellow onion, minced, and 1/4 of a pint jar of deli-sliced pickled pepperoncinis, also minced.(1/4 jar to include 1/4 of the "juice"..(the vinegar)).
By now, the rotini should be ready to drain.
Drain it, ad the vegetable soup/onion/pepperoncini/spices slurry, and about 2/3- 1 cup of "Lite" miracle whip.
Mix well.(salad should be nearly dry, with the individual rotinis still able to tumble apart if tossed....if it is wet and clumpy, you've put in to much mayo...take some of it back out.)
This is a sweet and savory recipe, and although not hot, has a mildly spicy kick that lingers on the lips and tongue for a moment.
