Not noticing the world around,
Eyes, ears for only one sight, one sound.

One day, I think, they'll both return,
To tell us all they've done and learned,
Of joys and sorrows shared and hidden,
And how happiness found them all unbidden.

It's hanging out with the Metric system in some cheesy smoke-filled basement bar in Troy, New York.

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

I had a roomie from Tennessee "Nashvull" to be exact. Used to get whole boxes of 'em in the mail from home. They were around for a while, but then i just stopped seeing them. I remember them as being pretty good, but extra-sugary after a while....

I assume that he's lumping you in as part of his definition of "Southerner". Are you going to take that from him?

Clearly not. We are Northern Virginians. We're less southern than most of Maryland.

I have seen no moon pies. Where exactly are you anyway? You might be just south enough I can declare you non-northern. But if you live close enough to UUCF and UUCR, you can't be that far...

I'm in Centreville - Fairfax County.

The Mason-Dixon line is Maryland's northern border, btw.

Also, I consider myself a northerner by birth (family from Indiana), I'm just living in the South.
