On that note, how much was the engagement ring, if you don't mind my asking? Because I was looking in the Sears catalogue a while ago, and I chose out a 500$ ring that I thought would be nice. I made a comment about my expensive taste, and my mother laughed at me... apparently they usually cost a lot more than that?

El, you will make some guy very happy in the future.
I never even looked at rings. Couldn't care less.
My hunny picked one out on his own, still not really sure what it really cost, over $1000.00 ??
But a $500 ring would have made me just as happy.
Hell, the ring doesn't make the relationship.
The two people do.

Yeah, it's a tricky one. Would you settle for a mail-order bride? I don't think they do mail-order husbands.

Who'd like to be my forum sweetheart/ mail order husband?

Well, if you're willing to pay Postage and Packing I've got a couple of weeks spare. I'd suggest Qwerty for a longer-term thing.

Plus I might catch French if I stay there too long :paranoid:

Oh, pick me, pick me! I have a car, I live almost as close to Canada as Scott and ET, and have no morals or sense of shame! The only thing standing in my way is work, and I know my boss would cover me if I told him I was going to Canada to be a mail order husband.

The fricking insanity is spreading. I met a guy at the bus stop today who wanted me to sign a petition to impeach President Obama because he's "spending so much money". I asked only one question: "Why weren't you angry when Bush was spending all that money on the war in Iraq?" He said "F*cking socialists" and stomped off.

I need to move to Canada, Australia, New Zealand...

A few months after Clinton became President, a store owner asked me to sign a petition to impeach him.

I responded, "You might disagree with what he's doing, but has he committed any crimes?"
He replied, "That's a matter of opinion."
"No, it isn't, it's a matter of law!"
Silence.

I didn't buy anything.

It's just so shocking. These people are against health care but for war? So it's okay to kill people but bad to heal them? That's what Jesus would say!
