SPAMMING IS AGAINST THE RULES FOR EVERYONE.
This includes inane posts to boost your post count, bumping old threads, spreading a link in multiple threads, or any other activity which contributes nothing substantive and serves only to disrupt the community.
I WILL PERSONALLY BAN ANYONE WHO DOES THIS SHIT. AND I WILL ENJOY IT!!!
In fact, I will enjoy it so much, you won't even get a warning, or a chance to redeem yourself. You'll just show up and find your account gone. And if you re-register under a new screen name, I'll ban you again.
So stop it, all of you have have done it, and any of you who were contemplating it for the future.

No one wants it to be an issue, and I don't expect it will be. This announcement is a response to a few recent incidents of pretty overboard spamming, to the point where it's impossible to make a case that someone wasn't completely disregarding the "no spamming" and "Make a substantive post" rules.
Clearly a reminder was needed, and that's what this is. Use your own discretionary judgement and you'll be fine. This is a case where you really have to go out of your way looking for trouble.
