if I come up with a title and people like it, why can't they vote on it?

Here is how this will work. Anyone who has the title of Prophet will start a thread here requesting a title, and listing the attributes they feel, beyond just being a Prophet, make them deserving of such an honor. THEN, the rest of the community will offer suggestions, a mod or admin will start a poll to vote, and then the mod staff will make a final decision between the top two winners.

Nobody else is making up their own or "adapting" them, RRR. You really seem to be missing the spirit of the game, which is learning what others think suits you, and (if need be) embracing the parts of your charm that WE enjoy, not just trying to make it all about yourself and your own perceptions of what's "cool".

Besides, I'm having fun coming up with names that:
1: I like
2: I think others will find fitting (often based on previous suggestions)
