The US government runs a faith based school lunch benefit in which they will give us vast (by our standards) sums of money to go out and buy Pasta to feed kids at school. See: Faith Based School Lunch Program

Here is our chance to combine our Million Noodle effort with the kind of government financed religious activity that will help propagate the Church of the FSM . All we need is for the True Prophet Bobby (May Pasta be upon his name) to write them and ask for the money to buy Pasta, and then use our Million Noodle structure to hand it out (remember: we can have Prophet but no profit, so no putting some in your pocket ).

I suspect that St. Bobby will get a “buzz offâ€￾ letter back, and then it is off to the media. Either way, we win (and we still hand out the Million Noodles anyway).

For me there is no food bank withing 20 miles!! But my school does this thing after easter where you bring in a shoebox full of foods and things that will be sent out to africa, and seeing as bags of noodles will stack quite nicley in a shoebox, then i might just have to send them a lot of noodles!!

Seeing as i'm a newbie, I was curious if the Million Noodle March was still ongoing...there doesn't seem to be any new posts.

Also, I have to ask if ramen is an acceptable donation noodle?

BTW, ramen is slightly good for you, especially if you don't use all the seasoning. I myself, being poor, eat ramen for dinner dry in the package. I mash it up, open the package, sprinkle about half the seasoning on, and eat it like chips. Yum. Filling and not fattening. Of course it's basically like eating flour, but that's okay. It's cheap.

I thought this was a great idea even if the thread is a bit old. Funny thing, when I was in the supermarket buying the pasta, the rep from San Remo asked me what I was doing with all the pasta (about 20 packets). When I told him I was taking it to the foodbank, he told me that their company had been doing the same thing every Friday for years, except for the pirate costume.
