Weather Where You Are

Postby TwistedSister on Sat Jul 11, 2009 7:30 pm

I know weather seems to be a "ho hum" type of subject, but being we are all so spread out across the Globe, I thought it might be nice to have a place to post about just the weather where you are. I know many of us mention it in our other posts, which doesn't make such an impact, so I started this.

Right now, 9:23 pm EST, thunder storm rolling in. Windy this afternoon with clouds. About 75-80 degrees F. Late this afternoon the wind stopped and now lightening is lighting up the sky, a little rain, thunder getting louder.
Temperature outside about 68 degrees F.
If it's a bad storm, we may lose power. Not uncommon around here. At this time of night, I would just go to bed and not worry about it. During the earlier hours, we have a generator.
Tornado watch spotted in PA today, but not close to us.

What's your weather like?

Currently warm-cool and overcast. In the last fortnight it's been alternately really hot and really rainy. Glad to see it's calmed down a bit now, especially as I'm not good with hot weather.

We're in the middle of a dry summer after a very wet spring. Beautiful sky, no clouds. Mid 80s (that's fahrenheit) today. Would have been perfect for swimming, but it always seems that 1 of my girls can't go for some reason.

Normally, we'd be having thunderstorms almost every evening this time of year. This year? Nothing.

Generally, it's been raining here (central Maine) for about six weeks. That said, today and yesterday were lovely days, sunny and warm (70-ish) though today was a bit breezy. Rained on my way back from the coffee house (10PM), still a bit drizzly, but should be nice tomorrow.

11:54 pm, 79 F, chance of thunderstorms but currently clear. Today's high was about 91, tomorrow's will be 89, with more possible thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms all last night in South Jersey.

Meaning lightning strikes every 5 seconds.

Literally.

It took me about forever to get to sleep.

Really mild summer, really. Hasn't been too hot at all. But I think it's going to be getting more hot and more humid, as the week progresses.

Seek professional help. Please.

Glasgow, my nearest city, was the inspiration for Crowded House's Four Seasons In One Day. It's not far from the truth: quite often I need my headlights, windscreen wipers, sunglasses and air con on all at the same time.

The weather here in Canberra today is cool and less boring than some days because there are huge, fluffy, white clouds in the sky.

2:48 PM, weather a little bit breezy, but warm. The last few days it has been very windy indeed.
