All rightie, mates, try this un. I got it from a clever friend, who claimed that it could be solved by pre-school children in 5-10 minutes, by programmers in an hour, and by people with higher education in an insinuated much longer period of time. I got it in less than five minutes.

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

It helps that I have a timer app on my computer. It's a tiny widget that stays on top of open windows, so I never have to go searching for it.

Don't worry, I won't.

Forget what the answer is. Knowing what it is probably won't help you figure it out.

What helped me was the information about who takes how long to solve it.

Yeah, me and the GF (well, mostly GF) figured it out. Although I have to say, I don't think a pre-school kid could do this, too abstract.
"How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, 'This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed'? Instead they say, 'No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.'" - Carl Sagan

"To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection." - Henri Poincaré

I couldn't get it at all when it was first posted, but after reading all this stuff about simplicity I looked again and got it in a few seconds. :fsm_rock:
