Hot on the heels of Richard Briers, animator Bob Godfrey, 91.

He made Roobarb & Custard, Noah and Nelly, and won an Oscar for a film called Great about Brunel. He also (if memory serves) created Buzby, the bird that advertised British Telecom for years.

Bob Godfrey and Raymond Cusick will be sadly missed.

Someone from Bob Godrey's studio came round to help me with my animation skills once...he did his best! You can see the influence in my Dalek made from a cracker animation.

Listened to a lot of his solo stuff back in my 'herbalism' days. One of my favourites (and a bit of a party piece when they pass the guitar around) was Stranger in Blue Suede Shoes.
Bit behind the times there, Bart...

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."
