Hey, everybody.

This forum has been running since July 2005, a few months after Bobby Henderson first wrote the open letter to the Kansas School Board and the Pastafarian movement subsequently gained popularity and momentum. Since that time, we've been proud to have an active community here that has spent the past months creating its own philosophy, meaning, and even scripture surrounding the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Our philosophy has evolved into one of tolerance. See the FAQ for more details. Our goal here has always been, and will always continue to be, to prevent the teaching of religion masked as "intelligent design" in schools. Our goal has not been, and we will try our best to ever keep it from being, to somehow mock religion.

None of us have had any advanced look at what the book is like. We've had a few rumors, a few murmurs, more than most people, perhaps, but the only people who know, as of this posting, what's in the book, are Bobby Henderson and his publishers at Villard Press. The rest of us are clueless.

So, no matter what the book brings - be it a reinforcement of our values here on the forums, or be it a complete contradiction of them - know that we did not write it, and as of this point, probably know about as much about the book as you do.

The book is one thing, but whatever it is, the values of the world's largest Pastafarian community can be found right here on this forum.

Keep that in mind as you comment on the book, please.

Again, to reiterate what Alpaca said in the section description, this section WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS. If you do not want the book to be spoiled, DO NOT READ ANYMORE OF THESE THREADS. It is true, none us admins or mods have any advanced knowledge of what the book may contain, other then a few reviews that have been posted on the mainpage. We are all ordering our own copies sometime soon and will be able to engage in the debate a quickly as possible.
